School Prayer
At Beresford Memorial School, children pray three times a day. Once in the morning during Collective Worship, before lunch and at the end of the school day.Prayer in the morning is linked to worship and ends with the Lord’s prayer.
The lunchtime school prayer is,
Thank you for the world so sweet,
Thank you for the food we eat,
Thank you for the birds that sing,
Thank you God for everything.
Amen
The home-time school prayer is,
Help us to do the things we should,
To be to others kind and good.
In all we do at work or play
To grow more loving every day.
Amen.
In the Classroom
Every class has a prayer and reflection area. Like our spiritual garden, children and adults can here experience stillness, reflection, find quiet and calm and to allow for prayer whilst also being able to explore ‘Big Questions’.
In the communal Areas
We also have prayer and reflection areas in other internal areas of the school. There is a prayer tree and prayer box, where children can post their own prayers or read a prayer from the tree.
Outside
Externally, we have areas for prayer and reflection in our forestry area and spiritual garden.

Prayer by Lucciah Cottam
Oh Lord our God, I use the name of Jesus to decree and declare that as you were with Moses your servant, you will be with all the children of Beresford Memorial First School, their teachers and carers, from Nursery to Year 4, and for the rest of their days on planet earth, in Jesus’ mighty name.
Amen
